depends on what kind. Are you wanting a nice professional camera. cause then you take pictures for people and charge them. or you can get a nice everyday one like me.. I have a casio Exlim and I love it. Its been going great for us and we bought ours in 2007. hope this helps.
I wouldn't recommend the Canon Elf. Maybe I don't know how to work it but my pictures don't seem to come out the way I want them, especially when I am taking pictures in a darker setting. We also have the Canon Rebel and that has been a great camera!
we also have a canon rebel.. they are a fairly reasonable price for more of a "professional" camera and it takes great pictures!
I went and shopped for our camera, and made a list of things I HAD to have. ie, super zoom, continuous snap shot, and the price, stuff like that, and then we look for the best NAME BRAND price. I like Nikons and Cannons, and the best bang for our buck was found at Costco.. surprise, surprise.
Good luck, it is a hard decision to make.
